Dimensions of globalisation and social welfare policies in Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development countries

Abstract Which dimensions of globalisation have an impact on social expenditure? How do different welfare policies react to globalisation? This paper addresses these questions focusing 36 Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development countries over the period 1990–2015 applying system Generalised Method Moments deal with endogeneity. We consider globalisation, economic, political, their potential differentiated impacts variegated policies. According our findings, all a positive effect total expenditure most its components, although influence is not statistically significant globalisation. The affected by are old age pensions, incapacity related, family unemployment benefits active labour market These results can shed additional light economic outcomes such as poverty, inequality, long run growth recovery.
